While at Albany Academy he played in three State Championship games with 1988, 1990 and Albany's championship year 1991. Craig went on to play his collegiate hockey at Providence College, where he earned Hockey East Rookie-of-the-Year and All-Rookie Team honors in 1992. In 1991, he was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in round 2, 43rd overall in 1991 NHL Entry Draft and went on to play for several teams in the NHL and AHL
